- 1/4 cup Margarine, shortening or corn oil
- 1 cup Light brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla

Instructions
- Melt margarine or shortening, allow to cool. Once cooled mix in sugar until blended. If using oil just blend with sugar. Stir in egg. Mix flour, baking powder and salt together. Mix in with egg mixture. Add vanilla. Spread in greased square 8x8x2 pan. Bake 25 minutes. Don't over-bake. Cut bars while warm.
